ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
of the
INNER PEACE MOVEMENT
Francisco Coll had been teaching and speaking
on individual spiritual unfoldment for a
number of years. He felt there should be a coordinating
and follow-up program for those
people who were interested but needed further
help. He was unable to find any organization
to do this work. Each one seemed to have its
Own program. He wished a minimum of organization
but a maximum of efficiency.
He considered the matter in meditation and discussed
it with certain individuals who
expressed interest and willingness to cooperate.
Therefore, following inner guidance, he
called together the following individuals to
meet at 5618 Nevada Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C.
on January 23, 1964:
The Rev. Carl E. Showalter, Pastor, Church of the Brethern,
Peru, Indiana.
Mini Rhea, Fashion Coordiantor for Beeline Fashions, Mt. Prospect,
Illinois.
Mary Glover, Executive Secretary of both The House of Loisglover
and the Loisglover Peace
Foundation, Washington, D.C.
Alice Glover, Social Secretary of both the House of Loisglover
and the Loisglover Peace
Foundation, Washington, D.C.
Dorothy Glover, Organization Secretary of both the House of
Loisglover and the Loisglover
Peace Foundation, Washington, D.C.
The group met in various sessions on January 23 and 24, 1964.
There was lively discussion of what was already
being done to help individuals and groups to
know themselves and to find a fuller spiritual
meaning to life, and of what were the needs
still to be met.
The Rev. Showalter expressed his desire to understand better the
metaphysical teaching of
Jesus and said that he had received guidance
to relinquish his pastorate in order to devote
full time to a program of evangelism through
love.
Mini Rhea expressed interest in the possibilities of personal development
through small study or
prayer groups. She believed much could be done
through dress and color therapy.
The Glover sisters all expressed deep interest in the proposals and
promised to give every
possible cooperation.
The Rev. Coll said, "We can give people the tools to find themselves,
and in finding themselves
they will find the Living Christ."
It was, therefore, decided to incorporate as a non-profit, non-political
organization to bring
cooperation among individuals and groups who are seeking inner peace
through spiritual growth;
the name of the organization to be INNER PEACE MOVEMENT.
It was agreed to adopt the Coat of Arms designed
by Loisglover but to leave the scroll
without a name. This Coat of Arms was copyrighted
April 26, 1946, Class G, Pub. No 1103,
by the House of Loisglover. The group was told
that the right to use this Crest could be
transferred to Inner Peace Movement.
It was agreed that the membership of IPM shall be $5.00 annually
per person and that a
membership application blank and card be prepared
and printed.
It was agreed to use P.O. Box 7612, Washington, D.C. 20044, as the
mailing address and the
Glover home at 5618 Nevada Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20015,
as headquarters for the present.
The following officers were chosen:
The Rev. Francisco Coll, President
The Rev. Carl Showalter, First Vice President
Mary Glover, Executive
Secretary Alice Glover, Treasurer
Dorothy Glover, Organization Secretary
Mini Rhea, National Field Coordinator
The IPM charter was adopted and filed with the Recorder of Deeds,
Washington, D.C., on January 24, 1964.
