INNER PEACE MOVEMENT
BOARD of DIRECTORS
MEMBERS
Role
of an
IPM Board Member
A member of the Board of Directors gives tools and mechanics to free
people. He is an international overseer of IPM, seeing that the tools and
mechanics are passed on to the people in the states. He has
an overview of the National IPM Program and is instrumental in directing
its progress in the state.
His role is to insure that all sponsored IPM leaders comply with
the IPM guidelines seeing that each leader introduces the state and local
officials at all IPM functions.
Mechanics
-
He is a subscriber to the IPM program.
-
He applies to the Board for membership and is elected to this position
by the Board.
-
After election to the Board, he pledges for the expansion of the IPM
program.
-
He insures that all sponsored leaders are living up to their terms of
sponsorship.
-
He is available for consultation with state and local officials.
-
He co-ordinates with the National Office.
-
When he needs clarification on policy or procedure, he contacts the
President.

Qualities of a Good Board Member:
-
He personally becomes acquainted with all leaders in his state.
-
He works with State officers in planning state activities and takes
initiative in involving himself in state leadership.
-
He keeps the big picture by adding to his training and attending as
many IPM programs as possible.
-
He encourages leaders within his state to take additional training and
to attend programs within their state, area, region, etc. He sees that
leaders have opportunities to share.
-
He is aware of the progress being made in his state or lack of it, and
knows why and does something about it.
-
He maintains motives of personal growth and of freeing people.
-
He invites suggestions from IPM Field Representatives
-
He attends all called Board Meetings.
-
He gives workshops in his state throughout the year.
-
He utilizes guidance in carrying out the function of his office.
-
He is enthusiastic.
Qualities A Board Member Needs To Be Aware of:
-
He is aware of his likes and his dislikes. If he takes sides, he will
become involved and lose his total picture; he will tend to become cliquish.
That will lead him towards becoming fragmented and he will lose the aim
of his direction.
-
He needs to be aware that a non-involved Board Member can end up with
a lack of follow-up in the ideas of the thrust forward and kill the initiative
of local leadership.
There is tremendous backing from spirit for leaders to fulfill their
thrust through action and involvement as a Board Member. Why not challenge
yourself to find a starting point and energize yourself and your community
through your true concern. You can begin by activating your pledge of $1.00/day
- $365/year. Are the tools of inner guidance and spiritual cleansing worth
it to you?
